Typical Peroxidative Parameters Verified with Mung-Bean Seedlings, Soybean Cells and Duckweed

چکیده
Peroxidation is indicated by several physiological param eters: (1) leakage o f cell mem branes and production o f short-chain hydrocarbons, (2) degradation o f cell constituents, (3) inhibi tion o f chlorophyll biosynthesis, (4) accum ulation o f tetrapyrroles (pro toporphyrin IX), (5) inhibition o f protoporphyrinogen oxidase by peroxidizers, (6) alleviation o f peroxidation by inhibitors o f chlorophyll biosynthesis, (7) alleviation o f peroxidation by photosynthesis inhibi tors (“diuron effect” ), (8) counteraction o f the d iuron effect by glucose (heterotrophic condi tions). Such param eters, described and elaborated with m icroalgae and higher plants, are veri fied in this study with soybean cells, duckw eed and m ung beans. Prelim inary data indicate lack o f quantitative relationship between inhibition o f protoporphyrinogen oxidase, protoporphyrin (IX) form ation and peroxidative consequences.

In a pot experiment, the effect of soybeans, mung beans and beans on the corn and sunflowers in a cadmium contaminated soil was studied in a completely randomized design with three replications. The treatments consisted of intercropping of corn and mung bean corn and beans, corn and soybean, sunflower and mung bean, sunflower and beans, sunflower and soybean monoculture of corn, and monoculture...
متن کاملSudden death syndrome of soybean in South America is caused by four species of Fusarium: Fusarium brasiliense sp. nov., F. cuneirostrum sp. nov., F. tucumaniae, and F. virguliforme
Soybean sudden death syndrome (SDS) pathogens and dry bean root-rot pathogens were studied taxonomically, phylogenetically, and pathologically. Detailed phenotypic comparisons of macroand microscopic features and phylogenetic analyses of multilocus DNA sequence data, including those on the nuclear ribosomal intergenic spacer region and the single copy nuclear gene translation elongation factor ...
متن کاملMitochondrial outer membrane contains a protein producing nonspecific diffusion channels.
Vesicles permeable to sucrose, but not to high molecular weight dextrans, were produced when fragments of mitochondrial outer membrane obtained from rat liver or mung bean seedlings were fused with liposomes of soybean phospholipids. By using this reconstitution assay, the channel-forming protein in the mung bean mitochondria was identified as protein(s) with an apparent molecular weight of 30,...
متن کاملFluoride Inhibition of [2- 14c]thymidine Incorporation into Dna in Mung Bean Seedlings
The effect of sodium fluoride (NaF) on the incorporation of [2-14C] thymidine into DNA in germinating mung bean (Vigna radiate cv Uthong-1) seedlings was studied. One-day-old mung bean seedlings were treated with water (control) or 1.0 mM NaF containing [2-14C]thymidine for 24 h and the thymidine incorporation into various parts of the radicle was examined. Silver grains shown by the autoradiog...
متن کاملPurification to homogeneity and properties of glucosidase II from mung bean seedlings and suspension-cultured soybean cells.
Glucosidase II was purified approximately 1700-fold to homogeneity from Triton X-100 extracts of mung bean microsomes. A single band with a molecular mass of 110 kDa was seen on sodium dodecyl sulfate gels. This band was susceptible to digestion by endoglucosaminidase H or peptide glycosidase F, and the change in mobility of the treated protein indicated the loss of one or two oligosaccharide c...
